How does this rum taste?
The Rum Artesanal Belize Rum is a single cask release from the Travellers Distillery, bottled by Heinz Eggert GmbH. Distilled in 2006 from molasses using a column still, it matured for over 17 years and boasts a substantial 60.8% ABV. Enthusiasts note its coconut and vanilla fragrance with woody, spicy flavors accented by roasted and juniper hints. While praised for its rich Belizean profile, floral and juniper nuances are divisive, with some critics describing it as monolithic and reminiscent of gin. Despite some criticisms, it holds a unique place in the Belize rum landscape, aligning with the Spanish style yet offering a distinct tasting experience. Available at RumX, a marketplace for rum aficionados.

Palate Round, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, spice, light nutts, faint chocolate, cinnamon, light cherry. Finish Medium long, round, wood, light pineapple, faint cherry, light chocolate. The empty glass has some light maple notes as well as some light burnt notes.
Quite ordinary Travellers which suffer from usual flaws of the distillery, monolithic and linear
This one from RA took the 2nd place in my Belize tasting. From the start to end a really good Rum and with all the typical Belize notes. The really interesting thing of this one are the floral, juniper notes which I found on the palate. The finish is medium long and typical Belize 😏
Quite an alcoholic nose and rather wild Belize rum on the palate. I don't really like the gin associations. The finish, on the other hand, is pleasantly creamy with lots of coconut.
