How does this rum taste?
- Fruchtnoten und Funk direkt präsent
- Gut integrierter Alkohol
- Schöne Mischung aus Funk und Fass
Rum Artesanal’s Long Pond 2000 brings waves of estery tropical fruit, pineapple and a whiff of glue that are instantly recognizable to Jamaican rum fans. Community impressions point to a nose packed with overt fruit (“Obstkorbes sind direkt präsent” – Oliver), plus an approachable level of funk and wood influence. Many found the palate creamy, warm, with notes of wood, spice and a finish swinging between herbal and dry. While some describe it as a slightly less complex or less wild Long Pond, it’s praised for its accessibility and balance. Yet, a few note that the typical Long Pond fruitiness can feel muted compared to other 2000-vintages.

To Long Pond
"Beautiful LP Nose very restrained... Sweetish peach, honeydew melon, green apple and very light ester notes. On the palate ... first again an unusual sweetness, immediately some bitterness. Little fruit ... lots of wood and herbs . Not quite convincing on its own... but delivers a decent Mai Tai as a blend."
"Not at the level of the other LP 2000"
"Wow, here is directly something going on in the nose! Ester and the fruitiness of a fruit basket are directly present. Clearly more esters and funk than RX7107. Great creaminess on the palate with very well integrated alcohol. I like it very much!"
"Nice and rich fruit basket on the nose which I found in other 2000 VRWs. In this one, however, there is also a ton of herbal and vegetal notes which I do not associated with this mark at all. Somewhat more akin to PM notes, maybe..? On the palate it is a bit more as expected. Fruits are a little tamed with woodies and again some herbal notes."
