How does this rum taste?
- Intense and complex aroma
- Rich citrus and spice flavors
- Good price-to-quality ratio
The FRC Martinique Rum, distilled in 2018 and bottled by Oldman Spirits GmbH, presents itself with intriguing complexity given its 4-year maturation. Limited to just 200 bottles, its nose boasts dominant citrus, milk chocolate, and vegetal notes, while the palate hints at spice, tobacco, and black tea. Made from sugar cane juice using a column still, this 58% ABV rum has been praised for its surprising depth and tropical influence. Although some find it slightly harsh and unrefined, most appreciate the potent combination of fruity and woody flavors typical of Agricole rums. Perfect for aficionados seeking a robust, young tropical rum experience, it's a valuable addition for those exploring Martinique's rum craftsmanship.

"Wow, quite extraordinary for a 4-ender! Seems much older than it is, has really nice, woody depth. Alcohol could be a little better integrated, but for this quality excellent PLV. Successful label (even if that is for the smell / taste heartily indifferent)."
"Young, fresh, Agricole. Nose: clearly Agricole. Spicy, woody, fruity. Young wood, almost a little green, plus intense lime, green apple and tart-sweet gooseberry, kiwi and redcurrant. A fine vinegar note is added here. Young and unripe, but pleasant. 7,4 Palate: spicy, woody, nutty, fruity, young. Pleasantly malty, with the sweetness of tonka bean and liquorice. Sweet cherry wood and mace with walnut. Also herbs, camomile, hay and grass. Most fruit is blackcurrant and prune. There is also a fine eucalyptus note and my typical soapiness. Very pleasant without being complicated. 7,8"
