How does this rum taste?
RumX members highlight La Perle for its very fresh, grassy sugarcane profile and strong vegetal character with citrus and spice. This blanc from Martinique is powerful, even a bit brutal for some, but others praise its finesse, roundness and long finish. With its dry, intense style, reviewers often see it shining in Ti Punch, where lime and sugar add extra fun to the clean agricole base.

A superb Martinique white. Lots of finesse. A very present cane and a very vegetal profile. Marked lemon zest. Roundness and elegance with good length. A real success story.
#5481 13.07.2025 Pre-dinner set with the guys and we decided for a set of unaged rums. Nose Fresh, fruity, faint smoke, light grass, sugarcane, floral, faint olive, citrus. Palate Oily, fresh, fruity, light metallic, floral, light citrus, faint iodine, faint olive, faint salt, sugarcane, medium spicy. Finish Medium to long, oily, round, fruity, light mango, light citrus, sugarcane. Empty glass Sugarcane, light peach, spice, floral, light olive. Price to quality is very good.
All what you expect from a well made agricole nothing less but also nothing more.
A powerful, almost brutal white rum, despite a slight reduction in alcohol content. The nose is very vegetal, with aromas of grass, artichoke, fennel, hay and pepper. This omnipresent greenness masks the sugarcane, citrus and spices that try to intrude on the nose. The greenness returns on the palate, even stronger and overshadowing most of the flavors. Only a few spices (pepper, aniseed) manage to cross the palate. This very simplistic profile leaves us wanting more, because there's not much more to come from it. Alcohol is also quite present, more so than on the Perle Brut de fût edition, paradoxically enough. The finish returns to the same profile, with a decent length. A rum that will stand out best in Ti Punch, the brown sugar and lime will give a little sweetness and greediness to this dry, intense profile.
