The "Time Travel" was produced in Guyana at the Uitvlugt distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Jack Tar. It was distilled in 1991 from Sugar cane juice with a Double Wooden Pot Still and then aged for 31 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 59,2%. Spirits Museum Tasting 29th of March 2025. Un nez de Demerara, avec du vieux bois verni, du crayon mâchouillé (graphite) et quelques fruits secs. L’entrée de bouche est puissante avec du bois dans tous ses états, bois mouillé, vieux fût de chêne et bois de cèdre. Quelques fruits secs comme du pruneau et des fruits jaunes, du graphite. La finale est longue, très boisée et elle développe une belle amertume. Un rhum assez fascinant même s’il est un peu monolithique.
Great Uitvlugt - Port Mourant. Pencils, wet wood, subtle pepper, balanced overall profile. Very good representative of the Double Wooden Pot Still style, also a very good representative for the vintage.
