How does this rum taste?
The Fiji Rum, crafted at the South Pacific distillery in 2009, is a limited release with only 291 bottles available. Bottled by Old Brothers, this 9-year-old rum boasts a high ABV of 63.3%, revealing an intriguing aroma profile featuring solvents, yellow fruits, and floral notes. Tasting notes highlight yellow fruits, buttery flavors, and a nutmeg finish, underscoring a well-integrated complexity despite the high alcohol content. Users appreciate its bold character and unique blend of fruity and smoky elements. Some suggest more aging could amplify its depth.

What do you get when blending Jamaican rum, young Guyana pot still and Isla whisky, all continental aged? Right! Let’s do 5 Fijians. SBS 2009 57% Rasta Morris 2009 60,5% Old Brothers 2011 59,1% Old Brothers 2009 63,3% The Nectar 2009 60,5% C: Light gold. N: How can butter be delicious in rum? How can mild olive oil be delicious in rum? Esters, granny apples, celery (without the tough strings), cucumbers, green grapes and phenols. And this is a new one “sweet pepino”, and no, that’s not a blend of sugar and cucumber, it’s a fruits I used to eat when little. Also known as melon pear. M: Smoky and in-your-face but believe me, elegant for such a young Fijian. What a rum! Lots of lime and pineapple. F: Short but nice. B: Can someone sell me a bottle or two please. Mine is almost finish.
