The Whisky Jury Hampden The Many Faces of Rum C<>H 2007

RumX Advent Calendar Day 5 Nose ... Yeaaaaa this is something for me. Full power ester glue tropical, butyric acid, fruits (pineapple, banana papaya mango) marzipan... wonderful 😁 On the palate very similar to the nose a young savage with a lot of power super fruity with nice marzipan pastry. Really delicious ... Long fruity and slightly bitter finish.

Edit: had another blind look at RumX Advent calendar 2024 -5. I was almost sure I had recognized a DOK here. But well, I guess I was wrong. All in all, I wouldn't have given him any more points. Crosstasting C◇H 1. kill devil 2. FRC C◇H 3. the Duchess 4. TBRC Frankenstein 5. the Whisky Jury Edit: had it on the calendar again today and tested it against the FRC JMC. But again, for me it remains the weakest 2007 of the C◇H.

It starts with a perfect Hampden nose: lots of fresh fruit and associated sweetness. Wow, very astringent on the palate, sweet at the beginning, intensely fruity, then slightly salty. The finish offers a nice interplay between fruit and sweetness on the one hand and spice and salt on the other. Excellent Hampden!

RumX Advent 5.12.23 War blind vei einem DOK. Recht brachial und wild. Schöner öliger Hampden. Geprägt von Zitrus, gepuffter Reis und tropische Früchten. Die hohen Ester machen sich in der Säure bemerkbar. Eine sehr gute Abfüllung. Edit: Zitronenmarmelade, Klebstoff im Nachgang, insgesamt lecker aber schon eine brachiale Geschichte. Für mich nichts für jeden Tag, dennoch Jamaica- Hampden DNA.

Very horny bottling. The oldest bottled HD 2007 so far.Price also absolutely fair for a 15 year old Hampden in 0.7.In the nose the typical HD 2007er C<>H flavors. On the palate you notice the further maturation and he is actually slightly different from the 2007s that I know.The Flensburg JMC remains for me the reference of the continental HD 2007, but super stuff the TWJ.For me 87/100

Calendrier de l’Avent RumX, jour 5. Un nez d’esters et de fruits, fruits tropicaux et ananas, puissant mais assez pur. Le bois est présent mais discret. L’alcool, les esters et les fruits sont immédiatement présents en bouche. Belle amplitude, puis tous les arômes ensemble déclinent doucement. Petit arrière-plan médicamenteux. La finale est moyennement longue avec une belle acidité fruitée tout à la fin.

the whiskey jury must prove against the FRC JMC HD 2007,. The first thing that stands out is that the WJ is a bit darker - I attribute that to the slightly longer cask maturity, 15 years at the WJ vs. the 12 years at the FRC. But the difference is also noticeable on the nose, the WJ seems a bit rounder, more like sour cream, vanilla cakes and tropical fruit salad. The FRC still comes across a bit more aggressive (and that's even though the bottle has been open for over 2 years now), more on fermented citrus. Also on the palate, the FRC just comes across even more brute (but it also has a higher ABV). Conclusion: really good what WJ has bottled, but the C<>H quintessence comes to the FRC just a little more clearly to the fore.

RumX-Adventskalender 05.12.2023 Klebstoff pur. Ein weicher, öliger High-Ester-Jamaikaner mit schöner Marzipan-Note, aber auch irgendwie etwas widerspenstig, nicht mein bevorzugter HD.

Really very nice bright fruit. Pineapple is in the air. Nice that he does not bring a too high ester mark. Alcohol is almost not to be felt.In the mouth then again much bright fruit.Really very tasty 😃Thank you to Christian for the sample !!!!

RumX Kalender 2024 Day 5: Verrottete Ananas, astringent, chemicals, Süße, Frucht, Säure, Butterkekse. Unverkennbar Hampden high Ester, tippe auf C<>H. Noch recht wild, denke nicht zu alt. Vielleicht 2006? Aber gefällt mir mega!

RumX Adventskalender Tag 5. Hier haben wir einen Jamaikaner im Glas. Fast unverwechselbar die Nase, welche aus Ester und tropischen Früchten wie Ananas besteht. Am Gaumen kommt er dann funky rüber, neben dem Ester und den tropischen Früchten.

Bleibt einfach genau mein Geschmack. Nicht zu aufdringlich, aber trotzdem die volle Ladung Ester mit der Erhofften Ananasnote. Den fast schon salzigen Abgang finde ich etwas ungewöhnlich, aber auch der gefällt mir. Lecker 😋!

A great 2007, no longer quite as funky as the younger bottlings, rather a bit more adult, but really good. Especially in the finish it shows more of the woody spicy side!

High Ester, joung Hampden. The hard part here is guessing the age and the mark. I'd say a C<>H with a pretty long ageing 10<X<15y in the continent Esters are a bit too aggressive for me and I find this rum pretty unbalanced. On the other hand, this is a great dram if you're looking for punch and funk. A lot of chemical notes on the nose and in the mouth where there is some citric trait along with a nice thick oily mouth feeling. Usual continental salted peanut at the end of the dram.
