How does this rum taste?
Sweetness takes center stage here: RumX members get honeyed fruit with orange and coconut aromas, leading to caramel-laced flavors. Often enjoyed as a dessert sipper or digestif, some add ice to soften the richness. Bottled by A.H. Riise in Brazil, this popular elixir has 131 community reviews and strong buyer confidence. A favorite for beginners and sweet-tooth palates, though a few note a short, liqueur-like finish.

7,5:The nose is quite sweet with scents of vanilla, butterscotch toffee and maple syrup all rising into the breezes. After the aering, oak spice pushes through the toffee sweetness, other sweet scents of candied oranges and canned apricots noticed. Coconut as well as some ripe banana finally appear as well. The scents and smells are enticing, although I am wondering how the overt sweetness will play itself out when the rum is tasted.... 6,5:On the palate, rum enters the mouth with a little bite of heated alcohol and wood spice. There is also an overt maple sweetness which is initially quite tasty; but which soon seems out of step with the structure of the rum. Notes of peppery oak spice, maple, honey and apricot jam with a touch of sour pineapple. When an ice cube added-whatta sin😈, allowing the dram to cool, the rum seems to find new life. I can now sip the spirit quite easily, and the cloying nature of the sweetness has abated. I am actually increasing the score a little now that I have found a suitable way to enjoy it. 6,5:The finish is full bodied, due to added sweetness.Sweet butterscotch and maple combined with oak and oak spice tasted. Baking spice and cinnamon linger also honeyed sweetness. This rum looses its appeal if it is sipped neat more than one glass, but it is my wife 's favourite 🙂...
Also from the sample set. Slightly less artificial than Riise Rums, but still extremely overly sweet. Not my cup of tea.
