How does this rum taste?
- Tropical fruit aroma
- Distinct esters
- Limited edition appeal
The limited edition No. 32 LROK rum hails from the renowned Hampden distillery in Jamaica, selected by Nobilis Rum. Distilled from molasses using a pot still in 2013, it was aged for nine years before bottling at 64.4% ABV. Tasting notes highlight a prevalent ester aroma with hints of tropical fruit, banana, and pineapple, while on the palate, woody elements accompany esters and a noticeable alcohol presence. Despite its potent profile, some users find its alcohol integration lacking, affecting its overall smoothness. This makes it more suitable for cocktails than sipping neat, especially given the premium price point for its category.

To Hampden
"Nase schön Fruchtig etwas Ester leichte Holznoten , Alkohol hier nicht störend oder Stechend . Leicht Säuerlich . Am Gaumen erstmal etwas Bitter und Holzig .... wenig Frucht wenig Ester zu schmecken. Mit der Zeit im Mund und vorallem im Abgang dann recht viele Bitternoten Alkohol nicht perfekt eingebunden. Solider LROK der Pur noch deutlich besser kommt als im Mai Tai."
"Mmmh delicious 🤤🤤🤤 Very good daily sipper „low“ ester Hampden 😎 Nose: Funky, esters, glue, nail polish, grilled pineapple, overripe fruits, lime, oak Palate: Identical notes… super delicious 😏😎 Finish: Dry, esters, tannins, grilled pineapples, fruity, oak. This for sure is a great LROK, but not at ther level of the LROK from HV!!!This is still my favorite"
"Have received in advance a sample of Nobilis and was allowed to test the rum.It is the first LROK from 2013, bottled at 64.4%. The storage was 2 years tropical and 7 years continental. On the nose he makes joy, but in the glass rather disappointing. The alcohol is too dominant and otherwise he is not so exciting. For 139€ at 0.7 liters also not quite cheap."
"This one is probably better used for a mixer because the ABV integration is off, even after resting the alcohol still bites especially in the finish."
