“Yet another very nice 94 REV. More on the woody side with a sensation of sweetness black tea. Only some hits of dried fruits on the palate with an extra bit of bitterness on the finish. Delivers all you would ask for, nevertheless.”

“Recognizably more powerful than other REV bottlings from 1994 thanks to the higher alcohol content. The alcohol integration is well done, but also the higher age compared to other releases becomes recognizable - the continental REVs seem to reach their zenith with 25 or 26 years of maturation, subsequently the barrel influences, spices and roasted flavors increasingly come to the fore. The REV profile, so pleasing with dried plum, leather and licorice notes, becomes more complex as a result, but also a bit less drinkable. Personally, I prefer the more balanced releases, but the bottom line is that this is all criticism at a high level - this release is undisputedly an excellent rum.”

“the Nobilis 94 Enmore REV / 28 yo competes against the TRC 94 Enmore REV / 29 yo. The higher ABV of the Nobilis is definitely noticeable, but not distracting. Both are nicely balanced, with the typical markers of dried fruit (prune), tobacco, malt, herbs. The TRC comes across a bit more red currant. Probably due to the higher ABV, the Nobilis still seems a bit more sweet-caramel, likewise on the palate. Both top, but the TRC I like (today) still a nuance better.”

“Nobilis has done a masterful job in selecting this Enmore. The nose is rich, deep and elegant. Dried fruits (prune, raisin) and plum are heavy and greedy, floral and herbaceous notes (on black tea) are more refreshing, while Demerara's dark profile fills the nostrils with noble woodiness, warm spices (licorice, vanilla, pepper), dark chocolate, coffee, roasted notes and leather. Cooked caramel and burnt sugar are also present. A real treat for the nostrils. On the palate, the attack is particularly dark. Roasted notes dominate, with dark chocolate, leather and coffee adding bitterness. Wood and spices (licorice, aniseed, pepper, chili, vanilla) and malt add warmth to the palate. It's very comforting, like an open fire on a cold winter's evening. Red fruits and prunes are as present as ever, alongside aromatic herbs, fragrant tea and flowers. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is long, but loses a little in aroma due to a rather pronounced bitterness and heat that dampen the senses. Tobacco, licorice, malt, spices, leather, wood, molasses, dark chocolate and coffee dominate, to the detriment of dried fruit and aromatic herbs. The profile is nonetheless charming, complex and warm. A very dark Enmore, which masterfully plays with the limits of ageing without losing its superb character.”

“A little comparison of two, 28yo REV... that will be nice 🥰. Here's the second one, from Nobilis:Nose: a bit more restrained at the start than the Greenheart, even if this one has more %. Then it comes around though. Again, nicely complex, full-bodied and round. Spicy-woody-roasty with neat sour molasses and licorice and again, lightly delicious Maggi. Soft, salty caramel and dark, soft prune. Super pleasant. 9.2Palate: oh how nice. Intense, complex, powerful and round. Sourly bitter at first, but totally pleasant, then toasty-malty-woody and charred. Lots of tart licoricey molasses and chocolate with mocha. All of this with the elevated ABV is a mega total package. 9.4There you go again saying that sugar couleur or rum caramel has no impact on flavor... REVs or old Demeraras at all tell me otherwise. But I do like this. Very much!!!”

“Beautiful bottling of the REV vintage. An example of how exquisite products can also be created with additives in rum. The bottling is complex, albeit slightly woody in the overall picture. The fruity notes are more restrained than others. But the black tea in particular is very present. Delicious.”

“Again a very tasty 1994 REV, with the typical notes of prune, chocolate, tea etc.. A lot of wood this time, just OK for me. Behind the wood, the Nobilis still shows enough sweetness. The zenith of the 1994 REVs has probably been reached, unless you like licking burnt wood.”

“Also again a horny REV with a slightly different profile than I know it! Clearly spicier, warmer and less floral. Has almost something of dark malt beer, plus dried fig, dark chocolate and smoky stout, as well as a lot of tree resin. Delicious! Alcohol top integrated!”
