The "Cuba" was produced in Cuba at the Sancti Spiritus distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Compagnie des Indes. It was distilled in 1998 from Molasses with a Column Still and then aged for 16 years. The rum has an ABV of 45%. The rum smells like Floral, Herbal and Smoky, and on the palate there is Smoky, Caramel and Spicy.

"Wer am Anfang seiner ungesüßten Rumleidenschaft einen typischen 98er Sancti Spíritus kennenlernen will, der darf getrost zu diesem Rum greifen. Typisch, weil die Marker grüner Apfel und frische, leicht bittere Minze schon deutlich hervorstechen. Ich mag dieses Profil ja immer noch, wenngleich dieser Rum hier konkret für meinen Geschmack zu sehr verdünnt wurde, er hätte etwas mehr PS unter der Haube vertragen (um im Cuba-Bild zu bleiben: die Karosserie des Chevy ist geblieben, aber der 8-Zylinder ist durch einen Lada-Motor ausgetauscht worden)."
