"It lacks esters, but is still a good rum."
"Tasted this at SDR23, so my review remains rather concise. An interesting composition of aromas on the nose combining (atypical?) fruits, spices and dairy. Overripe banana and sour kiwi followed by a citrus blend and bitter grapefruit. A very mellow profile coated in a thick layer of whipped cream, spiced with vanillapod, aniseed and allspice. Unfortunately the nose is dominated by a synthetic, earthy smell that reminds me of ‘Playdough’ more than anything else. Once smelled, I couldn’t get through it anymore and it became too overpowering to remain pleasant. Soft and accessible palate with a very long finish rich in caramelised banana and baking spices. Very sweet and creamy. ‘Christmassy’ in a lot of ways. Lightly salted and yeasty with some remaining notes of allspice. A very interesting sample that I’m glad to have had, but the pricing on this bottle is absolutely ridiculous."
