“A young rum bottled in partnership with the 1802 bar. The nose reveals the typical notes of Mhoba, the earthy side with mushrooms on the verge of decomposition, vegetal notes, ripe banana, sugar cane typical of the terroir, without forgetting the woody, vanilla and spicy notes that bring balance to these very divisive flavors.On the palate, we find a controlled attack despite the degrees on the meter, with rubbery notes, a medicinal side with esters, a beautiful basket of ripe fruits and woody and spicy notes. The whole is dry but very approachable. The finish is of medium length and reminiscent of tropical fruits, esters, spices and wood, with a hint of leather to complement.A rum that looks good for its relatively low age count. Even if it is rather linear and lacks depth, aging and complexity, it remains an appreciable rum to discover new horizons. The quality / price ratio is nevertheless questionable.”
