How does this rum taste?
The "SSN" rum is a remarkable product from the Diamond distillery in Guyana, bottled by Velier. Distilled in 1996 and aged for 16 years, this limited release of only 828 bottles features a potent 63.4% ABV. Crafted from molasses, it delivers a complex aroma with dominant notes of vanilla, caramel, and oak. The palate is delightfully sweet, blending flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla, and a hint of tobacco and anise. Users note that a drop of water enhances its flavor profile, making it a sophisticated choice among Demerara rums. While it maintains a high-quality standard, some find it a tad alcoholic.

basically, rums are more intense and complex on the nose than the palate. Not those demeraras I tasted today. The taste on the palate exceeded the expectations set on the nose. Another great rum, Velier did a great job with these bottlings.
If you don’t look at the label, you will think this is another 1999 svw, good stuff, but not fantastic
Not quite in the top group of Diamonds, but still extremely high quality level. Beautiful Diamond notes, but without that certain something.
Perfect sweet profile with coconut, molasses, vanilla, pastries, chocolate. A true desert. 🤩
