Hampden 8 MARKS COLLECTION OWH
Aromas spotlight vegetal and sharp citrus; the palate is fruit-forward, sour, and slightly mineral, with alcoholic bite. The RumX community finds it intriguing but somewhat rough—a limited unaged rum for those curious about pure Hampden DNA.

How does this rum taste?
- Fresh and fruity nose
- Distinct tropical and vegetal notes
- Interesting unaged Hampden profile
Warningly fresh citrus and green apple leap from the OWH’s glass, balanced by gentle tropical notes and a distinctly vegetal backbone. RumX tasters describe it as lively and aromatic for an unaged Jamaican, with hints of fruit schnapps, mineral, and a touch of brine. A slightly sharp, musty finish makes it a fascinating exploration of Hampden’s lowest ester mark—worth considering for fans of raw, direct flavour or blending projects.

"No doubt this is unaged. Rather in your face and a bit out of balance, but the fruit is there."
"Le premier de la série des 8 marks et regoûté un an après avec une meilleure note. La dégustation est très proche de celle de l’année passée. Un nez très crayeux en premier puis des fruits, beaucoup de fruits, de la banane, de la figue de barbarie. Une bouche racée, équilibrée avec de l’alcool de framboise très net. Une finale pointue mais longue. Le verre vide apporte comme une sucrosité en plus des fruits. Un rhum très aromatique et à coup sûr intéressant. Ça commence très bien."
"Good white rum. Certainly also nice to mix."
"In the best weather, tried all 8 HD Marks yesterday and re-tried again this evening with notes. A totally exciting, informative and wertgiges set and with real aha experience. Important insight... pour and taste right away. Long airing makes almost all fine flavors evaporate. But in detail: Nose: clearly dishwashing liquid with orange, still green tangerine peel and lime. Seems quite fresh as a result. Interestingly, it also has something of cherry yogurt. Esters are actually not to be heard. The max. 80 then probably come from the after all 3 days fermentation. Palate: slightly spicy, slightly bitter, but still quite mild for 60%. Has a somewhat spicy start, with a hint of caraway or cardamom. Fruit is there only in the background, lime with some orange peel. Rather, it seems somewhat veggie-like, with green leaves and fresh branches as well as mineral. In the finish, it becomes somewhat salty and reminiscent of a fruit schnapps. Hamden DNA is yet to really be found. Moreover, difficult to grade..."
