How does this rum taste?
RumX members love the bright tropical-fruit nose—banana, pineapple, mango—with fresh citrus and green apple. On the palate it shows fruit‑schnapps vibes, sour tropical notes and a vegetal edge. Unaged and 60%, it can feel raw with a musty-bitter finish, yet many find it great for mixing and for exploring Hampden’s low‑ester OWH profile. Popular on RumX with 77 reviews, this limited 5,000‑bottle release earns confident recommendations.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.

No doubt this is unaged. Rather in your face and a bit out of balance, but the fruit is there.
Good white rum. Certainly also nice to mix.
In the best weather, tried all 8 HD Marks yesterday and re-tried again this evening with notes. A totally exciting, informative and wertgiges set and with real aha experience. Important insight... pour and taste right away. Long airing makes almost all fine flavors evaporate. But in detail: Nose: clearly dishwashing liquid with orange, still green tangerine peel and lime. Seems quite fresh as a result. Interestingly, it also has something of cherry yogurt. Esters are actually not to be heard. The max. 80 then probably come from the after all 3 days fermentation. Palate: slightly spicy, slightly bitter, but still quite mild for 60%. Has a somewhat spicy start, with a hint of caraway or cardamom. Fruit is there only in the background, lime with some orange peel. Rather, it seems somewhat veggie-like, with green leaves and fresh branches as well as mineral. In the finish, it becomes somewhat salty and reminiscent of a fruit schnapps. Hamden DNA is yet to really be found. Moreover, difficult to grade...
