A solid aged Caribbean blend; the most prominent origins that show up are Jamaica and Barbados, with notes of dry fruit and coconut on the nose, with deeper caramel and leather notes through the palate and finish. Another compelling installment in the Ten to One lineup.
I liked how the bottle tells what to expect from the smells (e.g. banana peel, yellow apple, and wet grass) and taste (e.g. tobacco, cedar, and leather). Clearly I am a neanderthal, as I neither smelled, nor tasted, any of them. But, I still thought it was a nice rum straight and mixed; with some afterburn straight.
Perfectly fine. I didn’t get clear notes from the various sources, not even from the Jamaican component. Plenty of other aged rums to work my way through before trying this again.
