Destileria Sofa Plantation Venezuela One-Time 2010
Most like its unsweetened, vanilla‑and‑cognac profile and fair price; critics find it a bit sharp, neutral and unexciting. Consensus: a solid, decent-value Venezuelan, not a game changer.
Spanish-style drinkers who enjoy vanilla, caramel and gentle fruit, want a drier, unsweetened profile at higher strength, and appreciate good value over extreme complexity.

How does this rum taste?
Dry, vanilla-led Venezuelan with extra kick
If you like classic Latin vanilla‑caramel rums but wish they were drier and stronger, this is a logical next step—more kick and no sugar, yet still easy to drink.
Those wanting big funk or very complex sippers, people highly sensitive to alcohol sharpness, or drinkers expecting the usual very sweet Venezuelan style.

#4277 02.10.2023 Thinking about the price tag you get a lot for your money. This is also a rum suited for beginners once rested. Medium fruity profile with nice spices amd roasted wood notes. The palate is light and lives up to the nose. The finish is medium long and has some added orange to it. The empty glass has very light chocolate notes to it.
A rather pleasant rum overall, with slightly spicy, warm notes (dark chocolate/coffee) and a hint of raisin and walnut. I'd say it's the least typical of the under the see series.
The alcohol is a little sharp. Otherwise it would have been rated 80. But the aromas are typical for Central America. Strong vanilla and toffee flavors. But it's nice that it has no dosage. You can give it a try
A Venezuelan rum quite easy to access but with a little more character. The nose is quite dry, with some fruity notes, wood, spices, hazelnut and chocolate accompanying the caramelized sweetness. The attack in the mouth is smooth, with a syrupy texture. The sweetness of the spices and caramel mingle with subtle wood and light fruity flavors. The whole is not surprising, but it remains balanced. The 52% is well integrated. The medium-long finish is dry, a bit spicy, with light roasted, woody, chocolate and vanilla notes. We also perceive burnt sugar and dried fruits. Not bad for a Hispanic rum, the higher alcohol content helps to raise the level of the juice, most of which is often too diluted.
