How does this rum taste?
Lake Antoine Lower Crater Lake South is an unaged Pot Still rum from Grenada's Renegade distillery, boasting a 50% ABV. Tasting reveals vegetal, sugarcane, and fresh fruity notes, with peppery accents and a touch of raspberry. Users appreciate its green, mineral aroma and fresh, fruity taste, reminiscent of fine A1710 rums. However, some find it overly vegetal or salty with a slightly overpowering alcohol finish. With its unique terroir, it offers a distinctive experience, particularly for those who enjoy the vibrant character of sugarcane rums done right.

To Renegade
Very (too) vegetal on the nose. The cane is there, but really very green. Impression confirmed on the palate. Salty aftertaste.
It smells like cane, very vegetal with truffle as a co-pilot. The nose is top.in the mouth however we go back down a notch it's good, still with cane and sugar plus the brine that invites itself, but too much reduced.Too bad without this reduction there was a way to make a great white I think.
Very green and mineral notes. There is also some mango.
It reminds me of a1710s and I find it very successful. Vegetal dominates, as it does on many rums made using the same methods, with a hint of metallic and salty notes. This rum also has quite a few very fresh fruity notes. I seem to prefer it to the nursery > bacolet I had the opportunity to taste.
