Mamita Rhum 1970s takes you back with a nose blending spice, wood and caramel, plus some fresh, fruity flashesâthink "fruits, wood, unbalanced" (Kevin Sorensen đ©đ°) and "bois verni, des fruits jaunes" (cigares). The palate leans on caramel and dried fruit, rounded by gentle sweetness and woody undertones. Most agree the nose is more promising than the palate, with the finish often called short or moderate, a soft nod to "hrozienka, karamel, drevo" (martin slezĂĄk). Alcohol isnât always perfectly integrated, but thereâs a clear echo of classic '70s Caribbean funk.

"14.12.1995 Travelling around Asia i sometimes found bars that had other stuff than local beer and local whisky, which for that matter wasn't bad in the high temperatures. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose: fresh, fruity, light wood, round. Palate: Intense, fruits, wood, unbalanced. Finish: medium long, intense, warm, fruits. 3 out of 5 stars."

"Un nez un peu piquant, un cĂŽtĂ© vĂ©gĂ©tal avec du bois verni, des fruits jaunes, du tabac, de la poire surie et de lâalcool de fruits. Une bouche assez ample, caramel, vanille, fruits et bois. Mais tout passe assez vite. Manque dâĂ©quilibre ici et lâalcool mĂȘme sâil est bas nâest pas trĂšs bien intĂ©grĂ©. La finale est courte avec un peu dâaciditĂ© et de vieux bois. Comme plusieurs de ces rhums des annĂ©es 70 en Martinique, les nez dont plutĂŽt beaux mais les bouches déçoivent."
