How does this rum taste?
RumX members call this Clarendon EMB a great value cask-strength pick, with a fruity, menthol nose and tobacco/black tea notes on the palate. Several mention a tasty finish and hints of wood, chocolate and roasted tones. The high ABV can dominate at first, so it benefits from time in the glass. A 12‑year, 110‑bottle release with solid value for EMB fans.

Nose does not develop as many (stone) fruit notes versus the other 2010 EMBs I had to compare. With time in the glas the nose becomes more round but a alcoholic harshness persists unfortunately. Also not much fruitiness going on on the palate. Wood, roasted and choclate notes with some cappuccino. It is rather nice, but lacks complexity. Alcohol again a bit to prominent for a better score.
