The "Barbados Foursquare" was produced in Barbados at the Foursquare distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Rum & Co GmbH. It was distilled from Molasses with a Pot and Column Still and then aged for 10 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 64,10%. "Sehr kräftiger, gehaltvoller Foursquare. Hintenraus sind die 64% fast zu stark, aber er bekommt noch die Kurve. Dadurch schöne Röstaromen und Dörrobst im Abgang. Der Preis ist unfassbar gut und gibt eine Aufwertung."
"WOW, was für eine tolle Abfüllung Rum&Co da auf den Markt gebracht hat. Ein ganz intensiver, komplexer Foursquare, der fast minütlich sein Aroma im Glas ändert. Anfangs ganz viel Trockenobst, dann Zitrus, vor allem Kumquat. Dann kommt mit voller Wucht das Fass durch mit leichten Kirschbaumholzaromen. Danach wie von Geisterhand Toffee und Karamell Bonbon, man könnte meinen ein Werthers Echte im Glas zu haben. Das macht soviel Spaß, dass man das trinken ganz vergisst. Die 64% merkt man ihm in der Nase kein bisschen an. Mit einem Tropfen Wasser schlägt das Aroma erneut komplett um in Richtung säuerlich und Joghurt. Noch nie einen so komplexen Rum in der Nase gehabt. Zum Schluss hin plötzlich floral mit Noten von Rosen. Absolut irre. Am Gaumen merkt man dann aber doch die 64% und er brennt zu Beginn ganz schön. Kann dann auch mit der Nase nicht mehr mithalten und ist eher alkoholisch scharf. Das PX Finish merkt man hier deutlich. Aber macht so viel Freude an der Nase, dass mich das nicht wirklich stört. Ein wirklich toller Rum, den es aber wohl kaum noch zu kaufen gibt, gab nur 121 Abfüllungen. Gibt eine neue bei Rum&Co, allerding mit nur 43%. Werde ich mir aber trotzdem Mal zulegen. Absolute PLV Granate."
