The nose starts invitingly fruity (sweet) and mildly spicy. In addition, I notice a note like fresh unbaked cake dough and something like musty forest floor - very interesting!On the palate oily, lots of spice and barrel notes, sweet but clearly less fruity. The finish is long and slightly bitter (cocoa and coffee).In sum, a very good rum. I have unfortunately the OB ITP no longer for comparison but in my memory, the OB bottling is not quite as bitter in the aftertaste and a little more fruity. I give this rum but one point more because it seems more intense to me compared to the OB bottling.

La claque de fin d'année. Un superbe longpond de 15 ans quasi intégralement tropical pour un prix abordable... C'est d'un autre temps... Et quel rhum! Le nez s'ouvre sur des fruits tropicaux trops murs, de la cire et des arômes plus boisés. C'est hyper gourmand. Avec l'aération, les arômes boisés prennent plus de place, toujours avec un voile de solvant pour les épauler. Mais rien n'est dans le trop, l'équilibre est chouette, j'adore ce nez. En bouche il manquerait quelques fruits pour être sur le rhum parfait. C'est clairement dominé par les arômes du fût, mais sur une belle douceur, alcool très bien intégré. Je compléterai lors d'une prochaine dégustation. Pour moi une des bouteilles de 2022,surtout que ça vaut moins de 150€!!!

Da un Long Pond mi sarei aspettato un profumo marcato di pasticceria, invece è appena accennata. Al naso cocco, cioccolato, boscoso e una leggera nota fruttata. Al palato si confermano i profumi avvertiti al naso, ma con una nota fruttata (frutta secca o matura) più marcata e una leggera tostatura. Il finale è lungo, ma leggero. Quello che mi ha colpito è stata questa nota marcata di barile mista a uva sul finale, mi ricorda i profumi delle cantine fatte di umidità, legno e vino! Nel complesso un rum molto buono con una sua personalità anche se con alcuni limiti. La parte legnosa l'ho gradita molto e trovata ben integrata come la parte alcolica. Farò un azzardo, ad una degustazione alla cieca avrei detto un demerara piuttosto che un giamaicano. Un buon acquisto!

Leckerer Long Pond der leichteren Sorte aber dennoch mit tollen Aromen und super Geschmack. Schöne Noten von Bienenwachs, Wald, Früchten, Holz und Lösungsmitteln. Danke Rod für das Sample 🙏🙌🏽

Ich hatte eine zurückhaltende Nase erwartet, gefunden habe ich eine expressive Fruchtigkeit, die mich bei diesem Mark überrascht. Passionsfrucht, Mango, Vanille, Kandierte Früchte, mit einer zarten pflanzlichen Seite. Köstlich. Hier spielt er mit ganz großen LPs mit. Der Mund ist intensiver, würziger, aber auch scharfkantiger. Die pflanzliche Seite kommt deutlicher zum Vorschein. Die Frucht ist saurer als in der Nase und nicht so harmonisch. Das ist sehr intensiv, aber es leider auch etwas zu brutal. Der Rum ist dem NRJ/Velier Cambridge 2010 nicht unähnlich, weniger Nagellack und Ester, aber ähnlich fruchtig harmonisches Profi in der Nase, im Mund gewinnt die Harmonie vom STCE. Meine Erwartungen an diesen Rum waren trotz des hohen Lobs von Rod nicht zu hoch. Aber überwiegend tropisch gelagerte Long Ponds sind großes Kino, trotz kleinerer Mängel im Mund.

Wunderbar Fruchtig und Süß in der Nase... Überreife Banane, etwas Ananas,Pfirsich und zarte Esternoten. Ölig samtig im Mund .... Fruchtigkeit setzt sich hier fort... hier auch schön integrierte Fassnoten (Bitterstoffe,Holz) alles zusammen sehr stimmig . Alkohol extrem gut eingebunden , Blind hätte ich unter 50% getippt. Eigentlich mag ich diese Low Ester LP nicht unbedingt aber bei dieser Abfüllung fehlt mir das überhaupt nicht . Für mich das beste was ich bisher von Barikenn probiert habe.

A very nice long pond with a lovely nose: overripe fruit (I love that smell), spices, a touch of wood,solvent… Falls a little short in the mouth though, a touch too light for me.

Eher enttäuschend. Fast nur Holzig und würzig, Alkohol nicht gut integriert und generell hat das fast nix mit dem sonst so geilen long pond zu tun. Geschmacklich etwas Bienenwachs, etwas modriges Holz und etwas Kokos und Papaya... Der swell de spirits long pond 2007 ITP kann hier deutlich mehr!

Dominante Noten von gerösteter Kokosnuss in der Nase mit leichten Ester- und Klebstoffnoten im Hintergrund. Geschmacklich dann fruchtig mit Kokosnoten. Ziemlich rund und fast schon süffig mit gut integriertem Alkohol. Gefällt mir sehr gut.
