Un Diamond solide distillé dans l’alambic Versailles. Le nez se veut plutôt gourmand et accessible, avec des pruneaux, de la réglisse, de la cannelle, du café, un boisé élégant et des fruits exotiques. On a un profil sombre, légèrement sucré et chocolaté et rempli de douceur. L’attaque en bouche rappelle davantage le profil de Versailles et ses notes herbeuses, le thym, le thé, la réglisse, le café et les notes sombres, épicées et boisées. On a un rhum plus sec mais relativement léger et délicat pour son taux d’alcool. La finale est plus florale et rappelle la fraîcheur de l’eucalyptus et les herbes aromatiques. On retrouve également les épices, les fruits secs et le sucre Demerara qui forment un profil rond et très doux. Un Diamond Versailles très accessible et savoureux, qui montre que les rhums Demerara des années 2000 peuvent aussi être de bonne facture.
Very good Versailles. Unsurprisingly, we're on the usual markers and it's very well done. Personally, I really like these profiles. Completely similar to REV 16ans from the same bottler (although you'd have to compare them at the same time to be more accurate). So you'll have to see which animal you prefer on the label and whether you're a collector or not 😉
I didn’t take any notes at the Rhum Fest so a more detailed review will follow as soon as I get the chance to sample this rum again in a better context.
Goûté au RhumFest avec les ROA. A re-tester. Moins sympa que le MEE 2002. L'intégration de l'alcool est moins bonne que sur les autres bouteilles de la série. J'ai moins aimé malgré des notes de vanille très délicates.
