How does this rum taste?
The Nectar Of The Daily Drams Jamaica & Trinidad (WP+TDL) is an intriguing blend distilled from molasses at Worthy Park, aged 5-7 years, and bottled by The Nectar. With an impressive ABV of 70%, its limited release includes only 200 bottles. Users highlight a complex aroma with sherry and vanilla notes and a robust taste dominated by grapes and milk chocolate. While the alcohol is surprisingly well integrated, it's seen as overly potent and best suited as a mixer. The rum's richness, with elements like roasted nuts and overripe fruits, appeals to adventurous palates. Strong wood and sherry influences may divide opinions on complexity and balance.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 46,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
For me, it's actually more of a mixer than to be enjoyed straight. I'll try it in CubaLibre soon. I'm not convinced right now. Edit: tried it today as a mixer in CubaLibre. Definitely more suitable as a mixer. Corrected upwards as a result. Pure rather 7.6 than mixer 8.8. Awarded an average of 8.2 points
Nice, drinkable rum. Dangerously easy drinking for 70%. Sherry finish and WP come through. PLV top!
I feel a technical and woody cultivated Jamaican. The fun begins after tasting, when the jamaica initially shows up, immediately giving way to a hint of trinidad spice and eventually the cherry sweetness takes over. At first I'm quite excited, later on the sherry is probably too much.
This release needs 20-30 minutes in the glass to let the aggression settle. After resting you immediately pick up on very dark sugarsyrup and charred cherry wood. It’s thick, sweet, roasted and lightly smoked. There’s black fruits and juniper gracefully adds some bark and citrusy notes into the mix. On the nose the TDL component is too overpowering. Tasting finally reveals some WP: caramelised banana, tea and dairy. All other fruits are mostly scorched away by the heat. Hot, very dark and syrupy, but this time followed by salted butter into a minty, cool finish. It’s a nice blend, the alcohol is integrated pretty well and the price/quality is reasonably high at release. However I would have liked a little more involution.
