Worthy Park The Nectar Of The Daily Drams Jamaica & Trinidad (WP+TDL) (RX14143)
AVERAGE VALUE
The Nectar Of The Daily Drams Jamaica & Trinidad (WP+TDL) is a unique blend produced in multiple countries at the Worthy Park distillery, carefully selected and bottled by the independent bottler The Nectar. This rum is distilled from molasses using both pot and column stills, and aged for 5 to 7 years. Packaged at cask strength with an ABV of 70%, it is a limited release with only 200 bottles available. With notes of vanilla, sherry, cinnamon, grapes, and cherry on the nose and roasted nuts, overripe grapes, milk chocolate, and nougat flavors, it is pleasantly surprising how well the alcohol is integrated, making it dangerously enjoyable. Users note that this rum benefits from some resting time in the glass to let the complex flavors shine. Overall, a fascinating blend with a great price-to-quality ratio.

Nice, drinkable rum. Dangerously easy drinking for 70%. Sherry finish and WP come through. PLV top!

Perfectly integrated alcohol. The 70% I would have typed blind rather 50%.

This release needs 20-30 minutes in the glass to let the aggression settle. After resting you immediately pick up on very dark sugarsyrup and charred cherry wood. It’s thick, sweet, roasted and lightly smoked. There’s black fruits and juniper gracefully adds some bark and citrusy notes into the mix. On the nose the TDL component is too overpowering. Tasting finally reveals some WP: caramelised banana, tea and dairy. All other fruits are mostly scorched away by the heat. Hot, very dark and syrupy, but this time followed by salted butter into a minty, cool finish. It’s a nice blend, the alcohol is integrated pretty well and the price/quality is reasonably high at release. However I would have liked a little more involution.

Already strong enough for me (70 is 70), but at the same time lots of fruit, density and sweetness
