Jamaica No. 13 is a distinguished rum crafted at the Clarendon distillery and bottled by The Colours of Rum. Distilled in 1997, this rum is an exemplar of 24 years of continental aging. Second tasting: better and not as light as I remembered. Since one must not be deceived by the pale color. 1First, the pale color amazes, for about 24 years in the barrel has not colored much.On the nose, however, there is no surprise: fine fruit esters stream towards me.On the palate much more intense, sweet, spicy, woody and dry.The finish is quite short and dry. After a break, the fruit esters flash again.These light Clarendons do not really fit into my Beuteschema 😉
I find the 97 Monymusk very good. This is already significantly diluted, but thereby a quasi easy sipper. I like it really well!
Sehr schöner Sipper, kann mir vorstellen, wie super die Abfüllung ohne die Verdünnung geworden wäre! Das hätte den Rum in wesentlich höhere Spären katapultiert.
Erstaunlich hell für sein Alter. Entsprechend dessen auch eher zurückhaltender Fasseinfluss, der erst im Abgang zum Vorschein kommt. Ansonsten schönes Profil im mittleren esterlevel und eher easy drinking.
