"Got this sample for free from RumX. It’s a pot still Clarendon EMB distilled in 1995 whereafter it’s aged in an American oak barrel for 26 years, of which 23 years is in the tropics, before being bottled in just 111 bottles at 63,6%. Overall a great rum but with a little bit too much alcoholic taste."
"Mint and black tea. Very good Clarendon!"
"Second tasting: great 95 EMB, unfortunately I lack a comparison. The alcohol on the palate is noticeable.I like these old complex and layered rums, rating unchanged. Completely different color than the 2 years younger Jamaica Edition No. 13 from 1997.Nose: fleshy, fruity, a little reminiscent of a heavy Long Pond, no alcoholic sharpness and tropical fruits (banana)Palate: oily and heavy, now the alcohol is very noticeable along with a lot of spice and even more wood.Finish: long, dry and spicy, slightly salty with licorice and also mint!Great, heavy rum with very interesting nose, the rest is very dominated by the wood, but I do not find it unpleasant."
"Great Clarendon... Nice and fruity. Alcohol somewhat very present but just within reason .Light sweetness on the palate paired with lots of fruit and some floral notes.... Alcohol a bit pungent here too.... nevertheless very tasty."
