How does this rum taste?
- Complex and fruity profile
- Unique honey and spice notes
- Well-integrated alcohol
The Royal Cane Cask Company Single Cask Rum, distilled in 2002 at Barbados's Foursquare distillery and bottled by Infinity Spirits, showcases a complex flavor profile that deviates from traditional expectations. Aged 20 years and boasting a 50% ABV, this limited edition rum blends woody, honey, and herbal aromas with notes of burnt sugar and dark chocolate. Users applaud its unique character and fine balance of spices, though some find it unexpectedly mild and slightly thin for a cask-strength rum. Despite diverse opinions, its individuality as a continental-aged rum intrigues many connoisseurs, setting it apart from typical Foursquare offerings in a limited 202-bottle release.

"This is a retaste and I stick to my initial score. A very unique release as its been fully matured continentally. Fruity with light wood and spices and some chocolate on the profile. The glas is wonderful an hour after emptying."
"Wow, I'm thrilled! I am actually sure that this is not a Foursquare. Completely out of character for Foursquare. I would guess West Indies. It has that typical honey note that I only know from Rockley."
"On the nose I have most likely green apple, almost like a 98 Sancti Spíritus. On the palate, the rum seems balanced, but also somehow watery and dull. This is really supposed to come from a pot still? Have I had this taste sensation before with RA's Rockley? I can't remember and unfortunately don't have a comparison sample anymore. In any case, this FS is quite different from the previously tasted FS from Royal Cane from 2005 (RX14165), somehow finer. For me the easier sipper."
"What a spicy nose on this one! It is super interesting how the spices are in the nose and at the very end of tasting it. This has a good alcohol integration and makes for a more interesting foursquare indie!"
