Pretty forward yet good Albion. More funky than expected, will lessen after a while. Lemony, dry, chamomille tea. It's a bit of a challenge but hang in there. Good stuff but also a bottle for the geeky fans.
Funk, strong taste but not overwhelming
Very fruity and fresh selection from Sample X. Now I want a bottle.
Young Guyana pot still, same league as 2012 The Nectar, SBS or the Barikenn? All very good! C: W wine N: That oiliness. That saltiness and that granny apple peel and celery blend. It reminds me of the SBS Albion. It seems to me that good young rum shows its true self right off the shelf. After 15min all the smells have converged making the nose very balanced. M: I’m finding very hard to stand by the premise that says, “Long aged rums are best”. Based on good quality young rums I’ve tasted I´m a believer that great distillate does not need long aging or tropical heat. This young Albion is a perfect example of that. It might not be the most complex spirit, but it´s crispy and fresh, full of lime and oyster juice. So natural sweet. F: Fast and furious. B: 2 please. Good price too.
