How does this rum taste?
Montebello Rhum Vieux Agricole, distilled at the Carrere distillery in Guadeloupe, is a blend of aged rhums offering a traditional agricole profile. With predominant vegetal, peppery, and woody notes, this 42% ABV rum is aged for three years from sugarcane juice using a column still. It reveals fruity and vanilla aromas, providing a grassy and herbal complexity. Users describe the rum as a decent mixer with an earthy undertone and a touch of pepper. Impressions range from enjoying its distinctive agricole nature to noting its middling complexity and short finish. This rum has been highlighted for its good balance and blending but also cited for not standing out significantly among agricoles.

The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
The 3yo from Montebello is a blend of 70% 3yo rhum, 20% 8yo rhum and 10% of 12yo rhum which gives an average age of 5 years. It’s actually the only aged Montebello rhum that is a blend. All the others are vintages. As a summary I think they have made a great job to create this blend.
Very neutral mid-range agricole that is not bad but is not standing out of the crowd of agricole rhums. It feels more like a mixer type of the agricole rhum than a sipper. I cannot find one specific note that stands out and differentiates this rhum from others. Maybe a peppery intro and bitterness in the finish.
Hezká kombinace ovocnosti a agricole vůně, vanilka, propsaný sud. Chuť se špatně popisuje, ale zase je to kombinace agrárníka s ovocem, kořením, propsaným sudem, muškátový oříšek. Závěr v podobném duchu. Za mě velmi povedené.
Hnus, pálenka..
