I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
I bought this in Portugal last April. Let´s see what a SC, CS Agricole Rum (without the “h”) from Madeira has to offer. C: Weak coffee N: Wild and almost ester-y. Imagine the darkest of all plums, plumegranate, with drops of spoiled lemon and vinegar. Smashed and cooked until reaching almost the burning point. That plum peel is very present, does it remind me of pencil shavings? I surely didn’t expect that. The longer I wait the more I get those thin pieces of wood. M: A blend of burnt sugar and plums. The taste is powerful and straight forward. Not complex. Too bitter for my taste. F: Bitter coffee. Thought: First you become a good distillery then IB will bottle your rums. Hampden, WP, PM, Versailles and so on. Not with Engenhos do Norte. Weird! B: Someone wants samples?
