How does this rum taste?
Tamosi Unaged Heritage Blend is a distinctive unaged rum crafted from molasses at Hampden distillery, with an ABV of 56%. Noted for its complex aromas of overripe fruit and ester, it delivers a taste profile dominated by spice and fresh citrus with hints of tropical fruit and olive. Users describe its nose as rich with esters and citrus notes, while the palate offers a unique combination of spiciness and fruity elements. This blend, with influences from Jamaica and Guyana, is appreciated for its creamy texture and freshness, though its dryness and unconventional flavor mix can be polarizing. Crafted and bottled by Levy Lane, it appeals to connoisseurs seeking a bold and intriguing unaged rum.

My first unaged blend and what a one...the Hampden HGML is clearly dominant...however, the DDL also leaves its mark and complements the interplay!A nice fruity nose with esters and yogurt flavors.Soft and creamy it spreads on the palate citrus, yogurt and herbal flavors unfold and also introduce the finish!A class unaged blend with excellent integrated alcohol
a blend of unaged HD HGML/LROK and DDL PM. On the nose, I clearly have HD at the beginning. I spontaneously had an association with Rum Fire. But the Tamosi is less 'biting'. Later, the PM olives too. Citrus fruits, brine, burnt sugar on the palate. I think you get pretty good value here for 45 EUR a bottle!
#4557 19.01.2024 Got a set of samples from a former colleague in Sweden and today I'll give them a go. My tastebuds are still hyper sensitive, which can be both good and bad. Nice and fruity rum with light polish and lovely esters. The palate is oily and fresh with a light salty note. There is a nice natural sweetness on the tongue. The finish is medium long and has a nice floral note to it. The empty glass has light olive to it and some vegetal notes.
Nose full of Hampden, the esters are coming through. You really have to look for the PM part. On the palate it becomes very dry and the PM part dominates. The esters reverberate at the end. Interesting blend but not my cup of tea.
