“It was just a very small bottom as a taster (it’s morning after the night shift) and I drank it relatively fast, but I liked it. Good value for money for a LP of that age if you compare it with the likes of the Rom de luxe wild series (and even the 15 year old ITP from the distillery, but that price is quite absurd).”

“Another low ester, high proof, LP in the glass. Lets see where this goes. Very meek and shallow on the nose. It needs constant agitation to release anything other than musty, camphorous or mineralic notes. Then we get coconut husks, plantains, crisp red apple and a plethora of dried fruits. It instantly transports me to fruity red wine country with oily, fermented, and lightly tannic smells. There’s faint petrichor under a blanket of vanilla and peppers. Upon swirling it releases overpowering licorice as it eventually ends in a hint of saffron. On the palate it also needs lots of swirling to release all of its flavours. Red wine notes, followed by plantains and waves of freshly squeezed orange juice. The barrel spices are more prominent, this time accompanied by salt and unadulterated anise. This freshness is counterbalanced by earthy flavours such as wet soil and gardening peat. Despite the age and ABV the finish is relatively unexciting and releases nothing more than orange juice, wood, some spice, and -foremost- soil notes. The alcohol is integrated reasonably well.”
