“#4096 This one is very nice once rested for a good while. Lots of fruits and nice roasted/charred wood. I like the light caramel in the profile and it draws nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass reveals some heavy wood and light pineapple.”

“Un superbe JM qui joue la carte de l’élégance et de la générosité. Le profil olfactif est très avenant, avec une certaine gourmandise sur la canne et les fruits confits, les pâtisseries et surtout un florilège d’épices en vrac qui agrémentent le chêne toasté et les narines (muscade, cannelle, vanille, poivre, cardamome). Il y a également beaucoup de fruits qui amènent de la rondeur : orange, fruits secs (raisin, pruneau), abricot et fruits exotiques sont également de la partie. Un vrai régal olfactif. En bouche, ce JM se dévoile avec sensualité sur les épices déjà évoquées, le chêne un peu plus sombre, le chocolat et un peu plus de caramel. On distingue également les fruits (ananas, orange, fruits secs, abricot), bien incorporés à cet ensemble à la fois sec, délicat et gouleyant. L’alcool n’est pas à un niveau très élevé, le rhum est légèrement aqueux mais les arômes et les saveurs sont bien là. La finale se veut subtile, sèche, toujours aussi épicée et rôtie, avec cette même sucrosité mielleuse et caramélisée en trame de fond. Le cuir, le bois et le chocolat donnent un peu plus d’amertume, mais les fruits secs et l’orange permettent d’équilibrer les dernières notes en bouche. Un JM très solide, dans la pure tradition de la distillerie. Il lui manquerait un brin de fantaisie pour atteindre les sommets.”

“This little corner of paradise is the birthplace of Millésime 2005, the brand's new flagship which is sure to attract the attention of connoisseurs... It is unveiled to us after 15 years of maturation, in the shadow of the distillery's original cellars. A long period during which it has been able to unfold its multiple flavors. Its aromatic profile evokes that of its predecessor, the 2004 vintage. On the nose, we find the prunes, raisins, dried figs and cocoa beans that made the previous vintage so charming. On the palate, dark chocolate and pleasant fruity notes plunge us into a real enchantment. A great aged rum that lives up to the reputation of Maison JM! Source : La Compagnie du Rhum”
