How does this rum taste?
Plantation Jamaica (Vinothek Massen) VRW from Long Pond distillery leans into a profile big on sweet orange, varnish, and tropical fruit, with underlying notes of fermented esters and subtle caramel. Community members repeatedly highlight its “tropische Früchte wie Banane, Mango und Orange” (Mirco) and a notable orange-forward sweetness, with Jadran Huys noting a “short bite of Jamaican funkiness soon turns into sweet orange/mandarin.” While approachable, some—like Djehey—find it “un peu trop doux”, pointing out that the sweetness can dominate and that for a higher score, they’d want more complexity.

A short bite of Jamaican funkiness soon turns into sweet orange/mandarin, a combo that definitely works for me.
First of all, a big thank you to SaibotZtar for this awesome mega-split from Plantation with some really rare bottlings. I'm honestly very excited about what Plantation can do now.
Auch hier ein schön ausbalancierter LP, hat genug Power, ist trotzdem einfach zu trinken. Orangenwein-Finish hätte ich blind nicht rausgeschmeckt.
On the nose the bottling shows a nice combination of fruity notes and wood. Quite balanced and enjoyable. Compared to other releases with (predominant tropical aging), this one is way less funky/ester heavy on the nose than I expected for a VRW. The „Orange Wine“ is detectable on the nose but imo in no way overwhelming. Similar on the palate: very well balanced with fruits and wood. Again not very funky. The Orange notes are showing up on the finish a bit more but are otherwise well integrated into the mix.
