04.02.2023 Enjoying a few samples at home. Colour Medium dark in colour. Nose Medium intense, light wood, fruity, overripe, banana, faint tar, ester, spice, faint glue. Palate Warm, light wood, medium intense, fruity, overripe, banana, faint apple, ester, faint glue, spice. Finish Long and warm, light wood, fruity, overripe, light pineapple, faint apple, faint metallic, faint citrus. Needs to rest to really open up properly.
This bottling with the Ironroot barrel is of the known to me the best so far.But it can not really pick me up!On the nose the typical, almost artificial, fruit aromas! Something floral is also there! On the palate it spreads smooth and soft! My first thought, slightly burnt sugar! This is followed by many different spice and roasted flavors! That fits better! In the finish joins still something bacony salty!
