Rumfest 2023 tasting so notes were brief Star of the show
Mit 20 Jahren schon deutlich alt und dann krasse 68%, da bin ich sehr gespannt… Nase: ungewöhnlich zurückhaltend und verschlossen zu Beginn. Man bemerkt aber gleich eine sehr konzentrierte Aromenfülle. Sehr angenehme, weiche und doch intensive Eiche, die sich wunderbar mit Vanille, Ahornsirup und braunem Karamell verbindet. Fein würzig liegen alte, getrocknete Sternanis und getrocknete Orangenscheiben dahinter. Dunkle Früchte wie Brombeere und Kirsche geben etwas dezente Frucht, Kelso und Tonkabohne weitere Süße. Wirkt malzig. Sehr rund, tief und Fiji untypisch, aber sehr angenehm. Die 68% sind nicht im geringsten spürbar. 8,8 Gaumen: Schön! Intensiv und kräftig und doch ausgewogen. Sehr gut integrierter Alkohol. Holzig, würzig und dunkel-fruchtig zugleich. Alte Eiche und Sandelholz und dazu wieder die getrocknete Sternanis und die getrocknete Orange zusammen mit Muskat und Vanille. Röstig, malzig und leicht salzig ist er auch. Süße von Ahornsirup, Tonkabohne und Schokolade. 9,0 Die typischen Fiji-Aromen sucht man auch hier, aber das ist ein großartiger, aromatisch tiefer Rum.
The definition of a Brett and High Ester rum that was fermented wild even if it tastes different than Hampden, the association with Jamaica is somehow there. Best High Ester Fiji Rum I had so far in the glass. Deductions in the B grade because the alcohol is already noticeable there.
