How does this rum taste?
Long Pond 2001 Precious Liquors has rum fans talking about its pronounced tropical fruit profile—pineapple, papaya, mango and touches of banana lead the charge, with esters weaving through both nose and palate. The rum shows a "wirklich bemerkenswert sanfter und runder Geschmack" (@Chrischi78) and a "tolle Obstvielfalt" (@Serge), plus soft marzipan, roasted notes and subtle glue. Integration of alcohol gets frequent praise, while the finish splits opinion—some find it lasting and well-rounded, others a bit thin. A touch of wood, baking spice and vegetal undertones rounds things out. Not all find the lower ABV ideal, but the juicy fruit and balance win many over.

Wow, I'm really excited about this wine. After some time in the glass, you are rewarded with a super development. It does everything it should and even a little more. It has the full balanced flavor with the "low" ABV without appearing thin or watered down. A very smooth and elegant rum.
Wonderful fruity nose delicious marzipan notes ... Ester clearly present but perfectly matching the rum. Woodiness very subtle on the nose. On the palate Slightly oily in the mouth . Alcohol very well integrated... At first it seems a little thin, but this is put into perspective as it lingers in the mouth and develops into a delicious fruity marzipan, pineapple and mango compote that you eat with a wooden spoon 😛😛😉 Great LP !!!
8,7:On the nose, the first impression we get is esters, there are juicy tropical fruits like banana, pineapple, that quickly melt in delicious marmelade. We cannot miss roasted oak, medicinal notes like glue, molasses with vegetal olive. Aeration brings out herbal notes, grass, citruses with lemon peel and papaya. Well balanced. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is spicy, vegetal and fruity with esters, our tasting buds are attacked with baking spices, a bit bitter molasses with an olive, eucalyptus, perhaps menthol, as the wood is a bit resinous, dry.The fruits are juicy, overripe, like melon strawberry, plum, grapefruit, melted into a tasty marmelade that goes directly in the freshly-baked pastry, with a pinch of a salt. After a nice rest, there is a layer of choc and some licorice. 8,4:The finish is very long with pastry glazed with honey, filled with vanilla cream, fruity, just a bit vegetal, marmelade. The wood is dry, toasted.
Great LPS. With the 51% also suitable in summer.
