How does this rum taste?
- Robust spicy and chocolate notes
- Distinct Cognac finish
- Collector's choice at cask strength
Barbados 8Y by LohRum, produced at the renowned Foursquare distillery, offers a unique experience with its cask strength 63% ABV. Aged for over eight years, this rum is a limited edition with only 31 bottles available, making it a collector's choice. Tasting notes reveal a profile dominated by spicy and chocolate tones, rounded with caramel and vanilla. The distinct nutty aroma adds to its allure. However, some users find the alcohol integration lackluster, impacting the rum's overall smoothness. This limited release also features a noticeable sharpness, which can overshadow its underlying chocolate and mocha charm. The Cognac barrel finish adds complexity, appreciated by some but jarring for others, making it a polarizing choice among rum enthusiasts.

"#25th B dec RumXCalendar Blind tasting: Nose: spicy, roasted Mouth: spicy, roasted, mocha Finish: long, astringend, mocha, roasted, oak, cognac This is one of the few rums I personally don't like. The alcohol could be integrated better, but for a foursquare itâs such OK This is super hard⊠i think this is from Monymusk ca.60% approx. 15 Years"
