How does this rum taste?
Roasted Skeldon coffee-chocolate pleasure
If you enjoy El Dorado Rare Cask or other SWR bottlings, this will hit the spot: same roasted Demerara core, but extra smooth, coffee-driven and dangerously easy to sip at cask strength.
Beginners sensitive to 54% ABV, drinkers seeking very funky or super challenging profiles, or those wanting huge complexity and endless finish over comfort and drinkability.

Seems more mature than the 2 years younger SWR 2001 from SBS with stronger wood notes. The dried fruit with apricot remains present in the taste but as with the younger. The nose is very inviting, besides oak a smell of cappuccino spilled over its already somewhat aged leather wallet. The alcohol is excellently integrated and the creamy texture goes well with the full flavor experience.
Auto-translatedA lively, deep nose of coffee, licorice, old wood and a fresh, mentholated side. Velvety smooth on the palate, with an explosion of aromas! Dark but complex aromas, always balanced by vegetal, minty and licorice notes. The finish is long, with all the aromas lingering on the palate. Another medieval rum that tells a story of fortified castles, wooden bridges and deep cellars.
Auto-translatedEin Volltreffer!
Very well balanced and elegant showing here. Some of the other bottlings show a little more punch and intensity, while this is just very pleasing to sip.
