I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 46,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
The taste starts with sweet fruits, it then moves to sweet pineapple before turning to sour pineapple. After that it goes back to the sweet fruits, like strawberry. In the background there are pastries. It is a young dram but that is part of the charm. I think the ABV was chosen well for this one. The mark is intense enough to give flavour. It is creamy and sweet (also due to the finish) without going overboard. The finish does not overpower. DOK can become too dry but it has a nice ‘fullness’ here. This could be called a pleasant alternative to Pagos. It could score even higher with more aging.
