How does this rum taste?
Reviewers love this Diamond for its rich balance of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and elegant dried fruit notes. Most praise how the smooth bitterness of cocoa mingles with hints of prune, apricot, and mellow oak, making it a standout for lovers of aged Demerara. It’s an easy sipper, perfect for savoring quietly—many note its inviting nose and well-integrated alcohol. This cask strength Guyana rum is noted as a go-to for those seeking depth, especially when you want a refined, mellow sipper without overwhelming complexity.

Strong notes of chocolate and coffee, fruity to it. For me the best Guyana rum so far
Incredibly present chocolate and coffee notes from start to finish. Yes, beyond that not much else, in fact not very complex, but I like the rum precisely because of this honest one-dimensionality. A rum that does not demand too much, but most will taste very good, because it seems round and you just maybe not every day rum with all sorts of rough edges can and will drink.Recommendation.
Some citrus jelly notes on the nose, which I also discovered in the Nobilis release. I get a very strong menthol note on the palate, which I couldn’t find in any other 2001 SWR yet. Very interesting twist, however overpowering some of the nice Karamell and fruit notes which are more articulated in the SBS release for example.
Welcome to the dark side of power😉 That's how I like Guyana, a wonderfully elegant sweet/spicy nose that you could sniff forever. The palate also shows its dark side again, sweet with lots of dark chocolate, on the verge of becoming bitter, lots of roasted aromas, plus leather and mocha, which is exactly how it finishes. 😍👍🏻
