It was distilled from Molasses with a Column Still and then aged for 20 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 63,2% and the mark is HTR. A nice nose with tropical fruits, very ripe banana, cinnamon and a well integrated metallic side.The metallic side takes over in the mouth and it's a bit disturbing, but the fruits are also there.The finish is long and rather nice but when the fruits go away there is still the metallic side.A good rum, but not a Caroni I would recommend, there are so many magical ones.To be tasted again with some oxidation, sometimes miracles happen.

Too much smoke, no Caroni ... Caroni je destilerie z Trinidadu, produkujici v dobe sve nejvetsi slavy rum, ktery se pridaval v pomeru 1:10 do namornickeho blendu. Byl totiz moc vyrazny a divny nez aby byl prijemny na jazyku. V roce 2000 destilerka skoncila s produkci a byla uzavrena. Az v roce 2010 se objevili degustatori, kteri si rum oblibili prave pro jeho specialni chut. A zajem rostl. Caroni patri do kategorie rumu "you need to try before you die". Doporucuji, Caroni je opravdu unikatni rum.
