Overall a great Agricole that’s very elegant, smooth and well balanced. This rum, Montebello La Brigade, is a cuvée from the Carrere distillery in Guadeloupe, in collaboration with the Commander of the Gendarmerie forces in Guadeloupe, hence the name. It’s a blend of two aged rums, 6 and 8 years old aged in American and French oak barrels bottled in just 971 numbered bottles.
#5038 15.01.2025 Enjoying some samples at home. Nose Light wood, vanilla, sugarcane, fruits, light citrus, light orange, light nutts, faint chocolate. Palate Oily, medium sweet, light wood, spice, light metallic, dried fruit, light orange, light chocolate. Finish Medium long, light wood, dried fruit, spice, light citrus, faint coffee. The empty glass has chocolate, raisin, light coffee and some chocolate. Pretty good price to quality.
