I always find Blackadder interesting, especially because of the fine carbon sediments from the barrel. More purism is almost impossible. Nose: needs a little time in the glass for the initial alcoholic sharpness to dissipate. Then comes a beautiful, spicy fruitiness. Coconut milk with vanilla, orange and lemon. Retains a metallic note the whole time. In the middle it is almost a little floral with a clear syrupy sweetness. At the end it becomes a little more muted, caramelly, woody with a slight smoky note. However, the Spanish style is unmistakable. Palate: initially salty-bitter metallic-fruity. Lemon zest with coconut. Then some sour cherry before it quickly turns woody-spicy. Now also laughs roasted-nutty, pecan nut. Metallic again at the back with lemon zest. Good.
Another good Panama rum from the house of ''Blackadder''. Less wood impact than in the older bottlings, but there is no bitterness at all and the rum is even more lively on the spirit. Great fun!
This is a very nice release and it had just arrived at the shop shortly before the tasting. No need to say that a lot of them were sold during the event. Well balanced in spiciness and fruit. The wood is there but not dominant at all. The flavours get even more evident in the empty glass after half an hour. Price to quality is very good.
With its 63,2% alcohol, this rum gives a good kick.. But in a good way - I find it pretty harmonic, in spite of the percentage, dry and complexed. Notes of ripe fruit, bananas, pineapple, burnt sugar, citrus and a hint of glue 😳 But in a good way.. A dry and complex taste - floral honey, brown sugar, vanilla, live and a bit of tobacco. I find this rum very delicious 😋
