I can't understand how you have to give a 2007 such a finish. It's actually a really good vintage in itself. For me, the sherry influence is definitely too clear and ends in a musty old cellar vault taste. Not at all my profile of what I imagine. It also reminds me of cardboard boxes that have been left to rot in a damp cellar for years.
Für mich persönlich etwas zu viel Sherry-Noten. Eigentlich hat das ein guter 2007er gar nicht nötig.
Sehr intensiver Hamdpen mit Sherry Finish. Das oloroso finish bringt eine mich persönlich störende säure mit dazu die mit den sehr intensiven estern nicht so Recht harmoniert, dazu etwas geröstetes sesamöl und Überreifes vergorenes Obst.. Kann man als high Ester Fan schon machen aber überzeugt mich nicht gänzlich. Ohne Finish hätte das ein toller Hampden werden können, für mich wurde der hier eher "verschlimmbessert"...
Das Finish gibt dem Rum vor allem am Gaumen eine bestimmte Richtung, für mich weg vom HD-Obstkorb (der die Nase dominiert), hin zu einer trockeneren, wurzel- oder gemüseartigen Anmutung, vor allem nach hinten raus. Habe ich noch nie so erlebt. Ich mag - und das ist echt ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal innerhalb meiner bisherigen Verkostungen - vor allem den Abgang, der mich in meiner Vorstellung in einen alten, staubigen Fasskeller führt, in dem vielleicht auch Kartoffeln über den Winter gelagert werden. Fazit: Ja, Experiment gelungen, wenngleich nicht herausragend. Wiedererkennungseffekt durchaus vorhanden, aber kein all time favorite. Interessanter Rum.
