"A nice rum, but certainly not among the best port mourants!"
"This is a really nice Port Mourant especially when looking at the price tag. Fruity and light wood on the profile with a nice touch of licorice. The cask finish is present in the profile and I think it benefitted the overall result. ABV is pretty well integrated and once aerated it is barely there."
"A relatively young, well-crafted Port Mourant, with none of the usual shortcomings of its very special still. The nose opens with exotic fruits and coconut, before moving on to earthier, floral aromas. The profile continues with an indulgent spicy bouquet (vanilla, cinnamon, baked apple), rounded out by roasted hazelnuts and roasted notes. A very attractive olfactory profile. There's a strong spicy concentration on the palate: aniseed, licorice, cinnamon, pepper and vanilla rub shoulders with wood, floral notes and exotic fruits, raisins and tannins. The fatty texture on the palate reinforces the impression of an opulent, gourmet rum. The alcohol is well integrated into this well-structured whole. The finish, of decent length, is reminiscent of Port Mourant, with its bitterness, floral and herbaceous notes, woody, spicy and delicate fruity aromas. A fine bottling that doesn't fall into the trap of other Port Mourants, and at a reasonable price."
"Good PM, not very fruity, especially in the finish the lighter, fruity notes are quickly gone and earthy, molasses notes remain."
