“This is a really nice Port Mourant especially when looking at the price tag. Fruity and light wood on the profile with a nice touch of licorice. The cask finish is present in the profile and I think it benefitted the overall result. ABV is pretty well integrated and once aerated it is barely there.”

“Un Port Mourant relativement jeune et bien élaboré, qui ne présente pas les défauts habituels de son alambic si special. Le nez s’ouvre sur les fruits exotiques avec la noix de coco, avant de continuer son chemin vers des arômes plus terreux et floraux. Le profil se prolonge sur un bouquet épicé très gourmand (vanille, cannelle, pomme au four) et complété par des noisettes torréfiées et des notes rôties. Un profil olfactif très attrayant. Il y a une forte concentration épicée en bouche : anis, réglisse, cannelle, poivre et vanille côtoient le bois, les notes florales et les fruits exotiques, le raisin sec et les tanins. La texture grasse en bouche renforce l’impression d’un rhum opulent et gourmand. L’alcool est bien intégré dans cet ensemble bien structuré. La finale, de longueur correcte, rappelle le Port Mourant et son amertume, ses notes florales et herbacées, son côté boisé et épicé et ses arômes fruités délicats. Un bel embouteillage qui ne tombe pas dans le piège des autres Port Mourant et accessible à un prix raisonnable.”
