Tinnerbäcken is a rum by the Swedish IB Östgöta Rom AB. It has got its name after a stream that runs through the city of Linköping which also gave the name to the city's central outdoor bath with a pool and a large artificial bathing lake. It’s a little special for me cause I grew up (from 8yo-) just some 100 meters from the stream and has spent lots of time at this outdoor bath. The rum is blended by the IB, after 8 years of tropical aging in former Bourbon barrels, using cane juice rum from Dom. Rep. and molasses rum from Venezuela. Overall a little bit too sweet for me with its 19gpl of sugar, but great to have for me.
I bought this Rum only for the name, Tinnerbäcken. For english readers i can tell that the a with two dots above, is pronounced like the E in boatdeck or intellect. Fun fact, Tinnerbäcken, is a small creek in the city of Linköping in Sweden. For english readers, the o whith two dots above is pronounced like the u in burn or the i in firm in english. However, I grew up just near this creek. I remember we catched crayfish in the creek back then, more than 50 years ago. The Rum is a bit too sweet in my opinion. There is some fruit and spices. The score is for the name 😀
