As a fan of Indian cuisine, I wanted to try the Jaggery Rum. I had no particular expectations, but the rum has me from the first moment ih its spell. This nose is really very nice, like the lovely TDLs but with an intense, ripe, oxidative, yellow partly tropical fruit. Kind of in between caramel Spanish style rums and the cognac-heavy Agricole - great blend of sweetness and complexity. In the mouth the profile is similar, with more prominent wood and a note of sweet black tea (Turkish chay) and heavy ripe fruit: peach.

Goes in the direction of Spanish style on the nose, with a nice butterscotch note, joined by floral notes. Lots of young wood, ginger and mocha on the palate. The clear alcoholic sharpness on the nose and palate unfortunately lead to point deduction in the B grade.

On the nose, caramel and vanilla. The nose continues on the palate: not much comes out except sweetness, vanilla and wood, reminiscent of caramel candy. Alcohol not well integrated. Can be drunk for scientific reasons. But you don't have to.

Neatly made rum, but has a little too many whiskey notes for me. A little more complexity would not have hurt either...
