“The 2007 vintage is dominated by tropical fruits, which gallantly play to their strengths; they are joined by light sweetness of pastry and sugar as well as floral aromas. All of this plays out well on the palate, and the alcohol is well integrated. The fruit melange is very appealing and offers complexity, light tobacco aromas, a bit of tart spiciness and toasted aromas from the barrel. Overall, however, the spectrum remains a bit too straightforward, the present counterpoints to the herbal-fruity freshness and thus the other aromatic influences that could provide additional excitement are missing. However, this remains almost the only flaw in this rum, which basically knows how to convince absolutely.”
