The Rum Sponge Collection Antipodes is a distinctive Jamaican rum from Clarendon distillery, bottled by Decadent Drinks LTD. Distilled in 2007 from molasses and aged for 15 years, this rum presents a high ABV of 63%. Notable for its aromatics, users report dominant pineapple and green apple scents, with roasted and menthol undertones. Despite the enticing bouquet, the taste has garnered mixed reviews: some appreciate the Jamaican fruitiness and robust barrel notes, while others mention an overpowering chemical orange flavor and poorly integrated alcohol. Great clarendon. Jamaican fruit and funk with the vegetal and farmy frame of clarendon. A very very nice selection. We can regret the price which is rather high but well, the Brexit also passed by...
Solid Clarendon with all ingredients of a great Jamaican. Punchy abv, that is well enough integrated to carry lots of fruits and estery notes. Not overly complex but solid rum.
Impressive profile, reminiscent of the 1995 EMBs - but here in a slightly more youthful guise. Plenty of fresh fruit, menthol, herbal notes of tea, subtle sweetness. Very good.
31.12.2022 Our yearly New Year party where we try new rums mixed with the personal bests. Notes Light to medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light roasted wood, faint citrus, faint mint, light floral. Palate Light oily, light wood, fresh, fruits, warm, light citrus, light floral, light orange, faint mint, faint licorice. Finish Medium long, light wood, light ginger, light citrus, banana, faint medicinal, light chocolate.
